Uniform illumination is the quiet prerequisite behind a large share of camera characterization and calibration work. Optical center calibration, lens shading correction, defective pixel screening, relative illumination checks, and transmittance measurements all assume that the light reaching the sensor is even across the whole field. When it is not, the correction tables you generate encode the flaws of your light source rather than the behavior of your camera. The UBL series provides a compact, stable, edge-lit backlight designed for exactly this role in an imaging laboratory or on a camera module production line.
For two models, it includes near-infrared light sources at 850nm and 940nm, which can be operated separately or combined.
Additionally, the device is equipped with C/C++ APIs and a GUI for computer control, significantly enhancing testing efficiency.
