DXOMARK is a name most photographers know well. It began as a ranking system for digital cameras and lenses, then later expanded into evaluating smartphones. In recent years, phone-camera tech has evolved at breakneck speed: multi-camera setups are now common, telephoto lenses are no longer limited to flagships, and AI has drastically improved image results. To better highlight the differences in photo quality on new devices, DXOMARK has developed a fresh set of test protocols. It recently held a launch event in China for the sixth edition of its smartphone imaging benchmark, detailing exactly how it puts today’s phones through their paces.
