DXOMARK and CIVIT Launch Joint Imaging Lab at Tampere University

The Centre for Immersive Visual Technologies (CIVIT) at Tampere University is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with DXOMARK, the world-renowned authority in camera and image quality assessment. Together, they are launching a cutting-edge Joint Imaging Lab that will push the boundaries of image quality testing, education, and industry collaboration.

This state-of-the-art facility will strengthen CIVIT’s research capabilities, contribute to the regional imaging innovation ecosystem, and offer invaluable opportunities for students and researchers alike. Through internships, thesis topics, and hands-on lab work, the collaboration aims to train the next generation of imaging experts and bridge the gap between academic research and real-world industry needs.

As part of the launch event, attendees will enjoy an exclusive tour of the new lab, followed by a specialized tutorial session led by Hoang-Phi Nguyen, DXOMARK Image Specialist and Product Owner of the Analyzer Imaging Solution. His session, titled “Image Quality Evaluation: From Fundamentals to Emerging Challenges,” will dive into key areas of modern imaging science, including:
